Cleaning a Clogged Drain

Homeowners Guide To Clogged Drains

You have a clogged drain that does not flow. Now what should you do?

DO NOT think that drain acid will be the cure. Acid makes the situation worse.

Let’s say you have a Clogged kitchen sink that is not flowing. As soon as you add the acid, it will sink to the bottom and just sit at the blockage. It is exceedingly rare the acid will help. The acid is generally pH-neutralized and is unable to agitate the blockage correctly.

If we need to snake the sink professionally, all that acidic water must now be removed and disposed of before any snaking may happen. A clogged drain with sitting acid poses a health and property risk if it is not removed and disposed of professionally.

To save yourself a headache, as soon as you notice the drain running slower than usual, you may add some acid and some cold water right after, but NEVER HOT WATER!!

Always read the instructions and follow accordingly. Don’t wait until your drain has become completely blocked.

Baking Soda & Vinegar can help clean a clogged drain

You may want to try a natural version of baking soda and vinegar.First, boil some water and pour it down the sink.

Then add 1⁄2 a cup of baking soda. Next, take 1 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of hot water (but never use hot water in conjunction with commercial acids), and pour it down the drain.

Place your drain plug in to allow the ingredients to work their magic within the sealed pipe. Wait about 10 mins and add another pot of boiling water.

Hopefully, that will solve your problem. If not, then you should call us to make an appointment, and we will be more than happy to help you out.
